The exhibitions "Robert Falk. Painting and graphic arts" and "Alexander Rodchenko" were opened at the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy.
The first project is dedicated to the work of the greatest painter, avant-gardist and classic of the Russian art of the 20th century, one of the leaders of the Jack of Diamonds, an iconic figure of the Thaw – Robert Falk. For the first time in Voronezh, a large retrospective of Falk's work from the early works of 1909 to the works of the 1950s is presented, emphasizing the diversity of his heritage.
"Such a definition as an event – both colour and plastic – is found in Falk’s works very often, " said the director of the Kursk State Art Gallery named after A. Deineka Igor Pripachkin. - I assure you that what surrounds us now is really an event. Practically no very famous, title pictures can be seen here, and that's for good. This makes one pay more detailed attention to the artist. Many thanks to the Voronezh Regional Art Museum, words of gratitude to the Platonov Arts Festival. "
The exhibition "Robert Falk. Painting and graphic arts" brought together about 50 paintings and graphic works of the artist from the collections of the State Russian Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery, New Jerusalem State Museum of History and Art, the Kursk State Art Gallery named after A. Deineka, Tula Museum Association.
"Falk for the people of the 50s was an absolute living legend, through which artists and everyone interested in art wanted to learn the secrets of pictorial skill and perception," said Kirill Svetlyakov, the curator, the chief specialist in contemporary art of the management department of the State Tretyakov Gallery. "They felt connected to other artists through him. Falk is a medium that connects with the pictorial tradition, but at the same time his works are stylistically very coherent and consistent. It seems to me that through Falk one can get an exceptional experience of pictorial perception and taste."
The second exhibition, which opened in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy, is "Alexander Rodchenko". This is a joint project of the Platonov Arts Festival and the museum, created as part of the regional programme of the Lumiere Gallery and the Still Art Foundation.
"The exhibition “Alexander Rodchenko" presents about sixty works by the photographer, notable for the fact that they were printed from the negatives used by the author, on his own equipment and in his workshop," said the director of the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy. - "The exposition was selected at the time by the daughter and grandson of Alexander Rodchenko. It was created in 94-95’s of the last century. At the exhibition you will be able to see all the most famous works of the photographer."
