June 8th - the seventh day of the festival

On the seventh day of the festival, the world-famous pianist Boris Berezovsky performed in the Voronezh Concert Hall, and the first showing of the performance "Wedding with the Wind" by the Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama was held at the Theatre for Young Spectators.

One of the most sought-after performers in the world, pianist Boris Berezovsky performed at the XII International Platonov Arts Festival. In the first part of the concert he performed solo, and in the second part of the evening he played accompanied by the symphony orchestra of the Voronezh Concert Hall (conductor - Yuri Androsov).

"The programme includes Rachmaninoff’s Variations on a theme of Chopin which is very rarely performed," said Boris Berezovsky. – This is a unique work that I adore, and it is a big mystery to me why it’s rarely performed. Rachmaninoff wrote Variations on a Theme of Corelli and Variations on a Theme of Chopin. Almost every pianist plays Corelli, it sounds at every competition, but for some reason they don’t play Chopin, although it seems to me that this work is even much more interesting and better. Prokofiev will also be played this evening. His "Romeo and Juliet" is a masterpiece, I play these pieces from the ballet with pleasure, and in the second part - his piano concerto. Good, such a festival programme, very nice."

At the Theatre for Young Spectators, the Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama presented the performance "Wedding with the Wind", which tells the story of a man who is captivated by other people's decisions, a son absorbed and paralyzed by maternal love. In Yevgeny Korniag's production, there are no words in the usual sense, and the Belarusian folk song is the main means of expression.

The exhibitions "Robert Falk. Painting and Graphic arts" and "Alexander Rodchenko" in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy and the project of Evgeny Kravtsov "Corrosion" in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists on 8, Kirova street continue welcoming the visitors.
