
On the eighth day of the festival, the first showings of the production "Within" by the Aditi Mangaldas Dance Company and the traditional puppet show on the water of the Thang Long Vietnamese theatre took place. The audience also saw "Wedding with the Wind" of the Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama and attended meet-the-artist-event with the literary critic Natalia Kornienko and the choreographer Aditi Mangaldas.
For the first time in Russia, the Opera and Ballet Theatre presented the performance "Within" by world-class choreographer Aditi Mangaldas, which combines classical Indian dance Kathak and modern dance forms. "For me, tradition is a river that is constantly moving, and its qualities depend on the place where it flows," said Aditi Mangaldas. – So the culture absorbs everything that happens around. You can save something only in a museum under glass. Yes, there is always a fear of losing traditions. But every artist must add something contemporary to authentic art. Creativity must breathe today's air, not the past."
After the performance, Aditi Mangaldas had a meet-the-artist event with the audience, which was moderated by dance critic, columnist for leading publications Leyla Guchmazova.
The first showings of the traditional puppet show on the water took place in the Central Park of Culture and Leisure. The Vietnamese theatre Thang Long presented genre scenes from the life of peasants and stories with the participation of mythological and fairy-tale creatures. What is more, the final showing of the performance "Wedding with the Wind" by the Republican Theatre of Belarusian Drama (directed by Yevgeny Korniag) was held at the Theatre for Young Spectators.
As part of the literary programme, a meet-the-artist-event with the editor-in-chief of the first scientific collected works of Andrey Platonov, Natalya Kornienko, was held. She presented the new volumes of the publication.
The exhibitions "Robert Falk. Painting and Graphics" and "Alexander Rodchenko" in the Voronezh Regional Art Museum named after I.N. Kramskoy and the project of Evgeny Kravtsov "Corrosion" in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists on 8, Kirova street continue welcoming the visitors.
