Vadim Repin
Fiery passion with impeccable technique, poetry and sensitivity of interpretations are trademarks of Vadim Repin, one of the most fascinating violinists of our time.
Los Angeles Times wrote: “Repin is one of the best we’ve got in the solo violin world. Like his great Russian predecessors, he can convey intensity and passion without forcing his tone”.
At only eleven Vadim won the gold medal in the International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition. In 1985, at the age of fourteen, he made his debuts in Tokyo, Munich, Berlin and Helsinki; a year later he debuted at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 1987 Repin became the youngest ever winner of the most prestigious and demanding violin competition in the world, the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in Brussels, that earned him recognition worldwide.
Vadim Repin has performed at the most prestigious venues with the world’s greatest orchestras including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic orchestras of Berlin, Vienna, Israel, Los Angeles, New York, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, Symphony orchestras of London, Boston, Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Philadelphia, Montreal, Cincinnati, Cleveland, La Scala in Milan and many others.
For his recordings Vadim Repin has won numerous prestigious prizes including an Echo Award as “Instrumentalist of the Year 1999”, the Diapason d’or, the Prix Caecilia and the Edison Award.
Vadim Repin plays the 1743 'Bonjour' violin by Guarneri del Gesù.
Maria Meerovitch and Sergei Nakariakov
Sergei Nakariakov, one of the most famous trumpeters, has broken through more than a few of the perceived boundaries framing the world of the trumpet in classical music. He was dubbed “The Paganini of the trumpet" by the Finnish press after a performance at the Korsholm Music Festival when he was only 13 years old, and in 1997 “Caruso of the Trumpet” by Musik und Theater. The extraordinary brilliance of his play timbre was highly appreciated.
His repertoire includes not only the entire range of original literature for the trumpet; but is continually expanding into broader territories. He plays music transcribed for the trumpet from violin, viola, oboe, piano, French horn, voice, cello.
At the same time, he has single-handedly brought the flugelhorn to prominence on the concert platform.
In 2002 Sergei Nakariakov received the ECHO Klassik Award on ZDF as instrumentalist of the year from the German Phono-Academy. Sergei Nakariakov's discography with TELDEC CLASSICS INTERNATIONAL (WARNER) has drawn the most enthusiastic public and critical acclaim. From the age of 15 he has been an exclusive artist of this company.
Nowadays Sergei Nakariakov performs in many of the world’s leading centers of music including The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York, the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall in London. He performs in festivals in most European countries. He tours for several weeks each year in Japan and also appears as guest soloist in the USA with the world's most famous musicians, orchestras and conductors. He usually gives his recitals accompanied by his sister pianist Vera Nakariakova or Belgian pianist Maria Meerovitch.
