Things and Things that happened
The exhibition will include Kharms’s personal belongings, recently found manuscripts, books from his personal library, photographs, authentic things connected with the life and work of the writers close to Kharms – Alexander Vvedensky, Nikolay Oleynikov, Yakov Druskin, Konstantin Vaginov and others. The exhibit items are as follows: a suitcase which was used during the blockade of Leningrad in 1942 by Yakov Druskin to save a great number of Kharms’s manuscripts; Kharms’s radio “Telefunken”, books and printed music with his marginal notes; a number of very important original manuscripts by Kharms and his close associates (e.g. an original manuscript “The Gray Notebook” by Alexander Vvedensky); unpublished works by Konstantin Vaginov, Nikolay Oleynikov and other writers.
Arkady Opochanskiy (designer, creator of the design of the Kharm's exhibition in St. Petersburg) will create a design project for the exhibition in the Voronezh Centre of Contemporary Art (VCCA), located at Prospekt Revolutsii, 29. In one of the VVCA halls there will be contemporary artists exposition based on motives of Kharms’ works and life and the movie (biopic) about him.
Daniil Kharms (1905-1942) was not only the creator of impressive fictional world but also the founder of artistic unions. Kharms’s most outstanding union was OBERIU which now characterizes one of the art movements. Daniil Kharms influences not only art but also literature and theatre of the second half of the twentieth century. His works continue to be relevant up to now.
“Vita Nova”specializes in small edition collective classics and in publication of biography and literary books. Books published by “Vita Nova” are among collections of the State Hermitage Museum, the State Russian Museum, the Russian Academy of Arts and others.
