Dramatic poem by Sergey Yesenin
Director — Fyodor Malyshev
A vivid Scythian frenzy, a sad daring, and the tender hooliganism of Yesenin’s poetry grow on stage from sounds and rhythms, from verses and songs; flowing from the drawn-out sounds of the Don Cossack ryley (a traditional wind instrument); born from the whistle of a scythe and the knock of a wooden staff. Everything plays here — words, objects, rhythms… Cossack songs coexist with the poems of Letov and Bashlachev, and the extreme minimalism of the set suddenly explodes with a disturbing blood-red color.

Rhythm and rhyme, sounds and silence, word and movement intertwine in the performance into a long fairy tale told by a wandering cripple by the light of a campfire
